Rider Grading!

If you finished the 2009 season 1st second or third you must move up to the next grade in that class.Other riders will also be regraded. The Race Secretary will not discuss issues with grading on Club race days. If you are not happy with your rider grading you are welcome to discuss it with the committee at the next club meeting! SENIOR PRACTICE TUESDAY NIGHT

As Racing is nearly upon us Tuesday nights are extremely busy. We apologise to all members and non-members who have been turned away as all groups have been full. We have time restraints put on us by council and MQ have rules and regulations we must abide by. For us to be able to increase rider numbers we would need council approval to allow longer hours and we would also need flag marshalls and ambulance in attendence which would increase riding prices considerably..

NOMINATIONS FOR 2010 COMMITTEE ARE NOW BEING ACCEPTED UNTIL 13TH FEBRUARY - IF YOU KNOW OF SOMEONE WHO WOULD BE INTERESTED PLEASE NOMINATE THEM OR NOMINATE YOURSELVES....

REMINDER!!!! YOU MUST PRESENT YOUR MQ LICENCE EACH AND EVERYTIME YOU SIGN ON TO RIDE...NO EXCEPTIONS!!!

The Club requires the services of a fencer to supply and erect permanent steel fencing to replace the existing tempoary fencing between the track entry and exit adjacent the Male toilet block. If you can help please contact the Club Committee.

Dear Members,

We are doing everything in our power to fight the council decisions from their final meeting yet we cannot fight this battle on our own. We need every member to fight for Motocross and make contact with their local councilors. You are rate payers and you are allowed to ask what is happening with your chosen sport of Motocross. Just remember you are part of an INTERNATIONAL sport. This sport is operated in every major Nation on earth and has earned the right to continue. The issue of noise management is being addressed every year internationally and new bikes are getting quieter and quieter especially the junior models. You spend thousands and thousands of dollars each year that the Council use to their advantage when talking economic growth on the Gold Coast. DO NOT SIT BACK AND ASSUME EVERYTHING WILL BE OK! IT WON'T WITHOUT YOUR SUPPORT NOW! Contact your councilor NOW! Following is a link to an editorial from the Gold Coast Bulliten on the 9th of January, 2009 that we could not have written better. Please read link and question your councilor and ask how this situation occurred. Stapylton is the ideal home for your sport so please help the councilors make it happen.

REWARD OFFERED

UNIT is offering a $400 voucher to anyone with information leading to the location of the stolen unit sign above. The sign was stolen from Gold Coast MX Cub late last week. The thieves would have been armed with ladders, tools etc to take down the 5m x 1.5m steel sign that was attached with 30 screws and liquid nails on top of the building. It,s a low blow to the Gold Coast's only MX Club which does it's best to promote the sport by attracting sponsors.
